Colon Cancer Stages

In a person’s life time, one must pass thru a variety of stages before we can go to the pinnacle of our life. One must endure childhood and adolescence before reaching adulthood. Like various theories, man has evolved in many various traits before reaching the stage we are in now. Even certain diseases have to evolve to determine what type of virus or bacteria it is. Colon cancer stages are critical for people who have colon cancer. Colon cancer survival rates in the initial stage can come up to 93 percent but could drop down to as low as 20 percent in its final phase.

Colon cancer stages begin in a small part of the middle layers in the colon. During this stage the colon cancer haven’t really spread around the entire colon. This stage is primarily known as Duke’s A colon cancer. When the colon cancer has reached stage 2, the malignant cancer cells have already reached the point where it has affected almost the entire colon of the person and has begun to expand towards the nearby tissues of the colon. This stage is known in medical terms as Duke’s B colon cancer. The colon cancer stages have reached stage 3 when it started to affect the nearby tissues.

It is much known to be determined when it is found in at least 3 lymph nodes. When the malignant cancer cells of the colon has spread to the other systems of the body this would be the final phase of the colon cancer stages. During this turn of events the person will only have a colon cancer survival rates of less than 20 percent.
